Frequently asked questions
The final value fee is what eBay charges when your item sells. It’s a percentage of the total sale, including shipping. eBay also adds a per-order fee of $0.30 for orders of $10 or less, and $0.40 above that. For most categories, the rate is 13.6% for sellers without a store. However, the rate changes by category and store plan.
Start with your selling price plus the shipping you charge. Then subtract your product cost, shipping cost, eBay’s fees and any promotion spend. What’s left is your profit. The calculator also shows each part as a share of the sold price, so you can see where your money goes.
Yes. eBay calculates the final value fee on the total amount of the sale. That includes the shipping you charge the buyer and sales tax. So offering “free” shipping doesn’t avoid the fee. It just moves the shipping cost into your item price.
Top Rated Plus is a badge for listings from Top Rated sellers. To qualify, listings need same-day or 1-business-day handling and free 30-day returns. These listings get a 10% discount on the percentage part of the final value fee. Tick Top Rated Plus to include the discount.
Yes. Enter what you spend to promote the item in the Promotions field, in dollars. It’s subtracted from your profit and shown as the Promotions fee in the breakdown.
